Privacy Policy

In short: your videos are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded. To keep LeanVid free and reliable, the app shows ads and uses analytics — what that involves is explained below.
Your videos and photos
All compression, verification, and replacement happen on your device. LeanVid never uploads your videos or photos to us or to any third party. The only network activity involving your media is iOS downloading your own iCloud videos, at your request, so they can be compressed locally.
Advertising
LeanVid shows ads through Google AdMob. To deliver ads, Google may collect and process device information and advertising identifiers. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, a consent form is shown before any personalized ads. On iOS, the App Tracking Transparency prompt lets you allow or deny tracking; if you deny it or do not consent, you will see non-personalized ads. Google's handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Analytics and crash reporting
LeanVid uses Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics) to understand how the app is used and to diagnose crashes, so we can fix problems and improve the app. This covers app events — such as how many videos were compressed and which features were used — never the content of your videos. Crash reports include diagnostic information about the device and the error.
No account
LeanVid requires no account and no sign-in.
Data stored on your device
Compressed results and your compression history live only inside the app's private container on your device. Deleting an item from History, or deleting the app, removes them. Originals you choose to replace remain in the Photos app's "Recently Deleted" album for 30 days under iOS's standard behavior, where you can restore them.
Your choices
You can change the tracking permission any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, review or withdraw ad consent from within the app, and remove all app data by uninstalling the app.
Third parties
Ads and analytics are provided by Google. Google's handling of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Children's privacy
LeanVid is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads shown in the app are subject to Google's policies.
Changes to this policy
If these practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy label will be updated before the new version ships.
