In short: your captures stay on your device and in your photo library, and are never uploaded. GramCamera shows ads and uses analytics so it can stay free — both are described below.
Photos and videos taken with GramCamera are saved to the built-in Photos app. GramCamera does not upload them to us or to any third party, and keeps no copy on a server. All compression happens on your device.
GramCamera does not modify or delete existing items in your photo library.
Camera — to take photos and videos.
Microphone — to record sound with video.
Photo library (add) — to save your captures to the Photos app.
Photo library (read) — to show, in the in-app album, how much each capture saved.
Location — used only if you turn on Location tag in Settings, and written into the capture's metadata (EXIF). That location stays on your device and is not sent to us or to third parties. If you deny the permission, the feature turns itself off.
GramCamera shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google may collect and process device information and advertising identifiers, which can include an approximate region derived from your IP address.
In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, a consent form is shown before personalized ads. On iOS, App Tracking Transparency lets you allow or refuse tracking; if you refuse or do not consent, you see non-personalized ads. Either way the app works the same.

Location recorded in your captures — if you turn on Location tag in Settings, the location is written into the metadata (EXIF) of the photos and videos you take. It is there so you can browse by place in the Photos app, and it never leaves your device — it is not sent to us or to third parties. If you deny the permission the feature turns itself off, and you can switch it off in the app at any time.
Approximate region for advertising — Google, which serves the ads, may derive an approximate country- or region-level location from your IP address. It is used to choose regionally appropriate ads and to determine whether a consent flow is required, for example in the European Economic Area. The app does not pass the Location tag position above to advertising — the two are separate.
GramCamera uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve it. This covers app events such as a capture having been saved or which settings were used. It never includes the contents of your photos or videos.
If the app quits unexpectedly, Google Firebase Crashlytics records an error report. It contains the device model and iOS version plus diagnostic information about where the failure happened, never the contents of your photos or videos.
GramCamera requires no account and no sign-in. It does not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
Your settings and a capture history (counts and the running total of storage saved) are kept only in the app's own storage on your device, and are removed when you delete the app. That history holds numbers and categories only — no filenames or photo identifiers.
You can change tracking permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Location tagging can be switched off inside the app, and camera, microphone and photo permissions can be adjusted in iOS Settings. Deleting the app removes all of its data.
GramCamera is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads shown in the app follow Google's policies.
If these practices change, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy labels before releasing a new version.
